Zinave National Park is one of the most extraordinary conservation stories unfolding in Africa today. Spread across roughly 408,000 hectares of miombo woodland, sand forest and floodplain along the Save River in Inhambane Province, Zinave has been reborn over the past decade through a landmark partnership between Mozambique's ANAC and the Peace Parks Foundation.
In June 2026, the translocation of nine white rhinos from South Africa completed the park's Big Five — the culmination of a decade of rewilding that has seen more than 2,500 animals across 16 species returned to a landscape that had all but lost its wildlife. This ultimate seven-day journey pairs deep, unhurried days in the reborn wilderness with the turquoise water of the Bazaruto Archipelago — the classic Mozambique bush-and-beach, reimagined around the country's newest and wildest park.

Best Time to Travel
Zinave National Park is at its best in the dry season (May–October), when wildlife concentrates along the Save River and the sand roads are most passable — July to September is the peak. The green season (November–April) brings heat, newborn animals and superb birding, with fewer visitors and better value.
