Overview
A compact four-day introduction to Zinave National Park, Mozambique's newest Big Five wilderness on the Save River. Rewilded over the past decade by ANAC and the Peace Parks Foundation, Zinave completed its Big Five in June 2026.
This explorer itinerary is the most accessible way to experience Zinave — a swift flight into Vilanculos, a guided overland leg, and two full days in the reborn bush tracking elephant, buffalo, giraffe, sable and the returning rhino. Ideal as a standalone frontier adventure or as an add-on to a Bazaruto beach holiday.

Best Time to Travel
Zinave National Park is at its best in the dry season (May–October), when wildlife concentrates along the Save River and the sand roads are most passable — July to September is the peak. The green season (November–April) brings heat, newborn animals and superb birding, with fewer visitors and better value.
