Overview

Five nights across two of the Sabi Sands' most storied lodges, with the option of a private vehicle throughout, this is the trip for people who take their wildlife seriously. You split your stay between the western Sand River sector — Londolozi and Singita country, famous for relaxed, close leopard — and a second lodge in a different traversing area, so you work distinct territories, prides and leopard lineages rather than the same ground twice. With a private vehicle and guide, you set the pace: stay with a leopard hoist for an hour, wait out a lion kill, chase the light for photography, and skip the midday return if a sighting is building. Five nights is enough time for the reserve to give up its best, and for your guide to learn exactly what you are after.

The Sabi Sands rewards time and it rewards a private vehicle, and this trip is built around both. Splitting five nights between two lodges in different sectors — for example Londolozi Tree Camp on the Sand River and MalaMala Main Camp along its own long river frontage, or Singita Boulders paired with a Dulini camp — means two ranger-and-tracker teams, two sets of traversing rights and a far broader picture of the reserve's wildlife. A private vehicle removes the only real constraint of a shared drive: you never leave a sighting because someone else wants breakfast. For photographers this is decisive — you position for the sun, you stay for the behaviour, and you come home with images a shared vehicle rarely allows. Every levy, transfer and inter-lodge move is included and itemised; the private vehicle is quoted as a clear, optional line.

Who It's For

For photographers, repeat safari-goers and big-cat enthusiasts who want the deepest possible experience of the Sabi Sands — two lodges, two traversing areas and the freedom of a private vehicle. Also ideal for a milestone celebration where five unhurried nights in the finest leopard reserve on earth is the whole point.

Best Time to Travel

For a five-night deep dive, the dry winter of May to September is the classic choice — thin bush, animals concentrated at water, and the finest predator viewing of the year, though it is also the busiest and priciest window. April and October are superb-value shoulder months with excellent game viewing. The green summer, November to March, brings dramatic light for photographers, newborn animals and the year's lowest rates, with big cats active throughout. Over five nights you will have outstanding sightings in any season; we time the trip to your photography and budget priorities.

Why Choose This Package

Two Sectors, Two Sets of Leopards

Splitting five nights between two lodges in different traversing areas means two ranger-and-tracker teams and a far broader picture of the reserve than any single camp can offer.

A Private Vehicle Changes Everything

With your own vehicle and guide you never leave a sighting for someone else's schedule — you position for the light, wait out the behaviour, and photograph on your terms.

The Lodges That Defined the Safari

Londolozi, Singita, MalaMala and Dulini are not marketing names — they are the camps that created relaxed leopard viewing and the ranger-and-tracker model the whole industry copied.

Time Enough for the Reserve's Best

Five nights lets sightings compound and gives your guide room to work particular animals — the difference between seeing a leopard and watching a hunt unfold over three evenings.
