Three days = one trek. That's your non-negotiable focus. Everything else is rest and context.
Most itineraries: Entebbe → Bwindi (2 nights) → Entebbe departure. Or reverse for post-trek rest near the airport.
Entebbe to Bwindi is 8–10 hours by road or 1.5 hours by scheduled flight. Flying saves time; driving saves money and shows you rural Uganda.
Gorilla permits book 3–6 months ahead for peak season (June–Sept, Dec–Feb). Early booking is critical.
Bwindi is humid and muddy. Bring wet wipes, hand sanitizer, insect repellent and lip balm.
Yellow fever vaccination is mandatory. Bring your certificate. Malaria prophylaxis is also recommended.
