You will be collected from your hotel in Johannesburg for an evolutionary day tour after breakfast. The tour starts at the Maropeng Visitors Centre which focuses on the development of humans and our ancestors over the past few million years. Maropeng means “returning to the place of origin” in Setswana, the main indigenous language in this area of South Africa. Our ancestors have lived in this area for more than 3-million years. From Maropeng, we proceed to the Visitors Centre of the Sterkfontein Caves which is the site of some of the most important discoveries concerning the evolution of man and have been declared a World Heritage Site. If it’s true that Africa is the cradle of all mankind, and most paleontologists believe this to be so, then Sterkfontein Caves is surely one of the continent’s sacred sites. The Sterkfontein Caves have been described as the ‘anthropological treasure-house of the world’. After the tour, you will be dropped off at your hotel in Sandton.



Pick up at accommodation in Johannesburg at 7:00 AM and depart for Blyde River Canyon Boat Trip near Swadini Resort. Blyde River Canyon is situated along the Panorama Route and we will explore this scenic river canyon via a boat trip on this day. We will drive towards the South African Capital City of Pretoria on route to one of the most beautiful tourist route in South Africa known as the Panorama Route. We depart Hazyview and travel to St. Lucia. The drive to St. Lucia is approximately 7-hours. Upon our arrival in St. Lucia we will check-in and overnight at our accommodation. St. Lucia is a small town which is mainly a hub for the Greater St Lucia Wetlands Park, which we will visit the following day. On our way to St. Lucia there will be comfort stops for restrooms and refreshments. This is a very scenic route and guests will be enchanted by the beautiful landscapes of mountains, hills, and nature as we enter into KwaZulu-Natal.



After check out and breakfast we will depart on an exciting tour to Isimangaliso Wetlands and take a boat trip. Discover Lake St Lucia on board a comfortable ferry that is able to venture into the shallow waters of the lake. Depart on a two-hour estuary boat cruise with stops at interesting sights along the way. You will have close encounters with hippos and crocodiles on tour.
