Best Time to Travel
October to March gives the best all-round conditions across the whole route — dry highland trekking, reliable plateau access for the Ethiopian wolf and passable roads in the Omo Valley. The long rains from June to September make southern tracks difficult and cloud the mountains, though January's Timkat festival and the Omo cultural calendar can reward a well-timed trip.
