Stellenbosch Wine Route
Welcome to Stellenbosch, one of the oldest towns in South Africa and home to one of the country's prestigious universities known as the University of Stellenbosch. Located just outside Cape Town City Centre, Cape Town is just 50 km away from Cape Town and can be reached within 45 to 50 minutes drive. Some of the best wine production in South Africa are crafted here. Stellenbosch is surrounded by more than 140 award winning vineyards in what is known as the Cape Winelands and the mountainous nature reserves of Jonkershoek (popular hiking destination) and Simonsberg named after the first Governor of the Cape Simon van Der Stel. The town's oak-shaded streets are lined with cafes, boutiques and art galleries. Cape Dutch architecture gives a sense of South Africa's Dutch colonial history, as do the Village Museum's period houses and gardens. Most wineries offer world class wine tasting facilities, luxurious accommodation and a culinary experience for any special occasion. Stellenbosch is one of the best honeymoon hotspot destinations in South Africa with establishments like Spier, Delaire Graff, Asara, Lanzerac, etc… which offers world class hotel facilities.
